Mercury & Old Crescent Moon
Morning Conjunction

While everyone has been busy watching Venus and Jupiter in the evening sky, I decided last minute to capture another conjunction in the Morning sky, with bright Mercury and the waning Crescent Moon only 8 degrees above the horizon.
The very old waning Crescent Moon was only 1.57% lit ~ 6:45 am E.S.T.

Canon 10D and 180mm lens at F5.6 on 400 ISO for a 1 sec. exposure while mounted on a tripod.

I took this image from my front porch in Dayton, Ohio,

When I saw this conjunction this morning, I was about to take my kids to school, so I just grabbed the camera & tripod and took a quick shot from the porch, I had no time to avoid the power lines, otherwise my children would have been late to school.
I hope others got to see it as well.

It was beautiful to see!
My Kids enjoyed it too!
