Thanks for your review. I've barlowed my 10mm Ethos with a 2x ED barlow and had excellent views of Jupiter and Saturn with it in my 16" f4.5 dob. Barlow's frequently accentuate the eye relief with many eyepieces making eye placement tricky for non-eyeglass wearers like myself but not so in this case. I haven't tried the meade 5.5mm 1.25" eyepiece with an AFOV of around 82 degrees but many amateurs like it. Still, I get a wider AFOV with my 10mm Ethos/barlow combination and the views are quite "clean" with little or no scatter or flare. Although some amateurs prefer a warmer tone in an eyepiece, I prefer the more neutral tone provided by the 10mm Ethos/2x ED barlow combo.
