Dan,
That happened to me while I was a sponsor. It has worked perfectly after my sponsorship expired.
I would get a message saying the site was having problems to try again later. Had to log-off and run the search as a guest. If I needed seller detail, then I had to log-in and out a few times for it to work correctly.

It is interesting that the search works fine with IE 8. But Firefox 3.5.x produces the error.
Switch FF rendering to IE (IE Tab), and the search works fine.
Deleting the cookies in FF doesn't make a difference.
So of those experiencing the problem, are you using FF?
