Wondering how the 12.5 have performed for any of you for bino-viewing. Am considering a pair for a TMB f/7 with a power switch to get me to around 250X for max power. Thanks in advance

Believe it or not the Celestron Ultima is optically exactly the same EP as the Tak LE for half as much money. The Orion Ultrascopic and the Parks Gold Plossl are also the same EP, made in slightly different focal lengths. You pay a very large premium for a slightly nicer housing and the Takahashi badging.
I beleive this EP first appeared under the Masuyama brand name in Japan in the mid 80's.

Mike,

I have used a pair of the 12.5LEs in my Denks with several refractors including my FS-128 and they were excellent. They do not provide the wide field of view that some prefer, but the LEs are relatively light, very sharp, and quite comfortable in the BV.
