12"SCT, portable or not?

Guys, are there many out there who transport the 12" meade SC on a regular basis? I'm toying with the idea of buying one but won't be setting up a fixed site for a few years. All comments would be much appreciated. Maybe some kind of bogey would come in handy. I would have to knock up a few ramps maybe.

Cheers, Eddie.

I found the 8" LX90 tiresome to lug around and got rid of it for that reason.

I would say yes but I am biased as I transport (on a twice weekly bases) either my C-14 or Meade LX-200 16" out to a dark skiy site (however am using an equatorial here)..the rigs are viewable on my SPACEAHOLIC.com site (under Astronomy)..

Definitely doable, though it depends on you and how strong you are. I normally observe alone and prefer DOBs but there are a couple of guys who show up every so often with 12 inch LX-200 GPSs and it takes em a while. I helped another guy, it was defintely a chore....

But then last month a young guy showed up with one in his car and I would guess it took him between 10 and 15 minutes to fully set it up all by his lonesome...
