What focuser would you recommend using in replacement of the supplied focuser with the Orion ED80 (I want to do some CCD work with it)? And who to get it from?...
Thank you!

I would recommend using the one that came with it. It's superbly smooth, and will carry several pounds. The fact that you can push/pull it by hand is not a problem, it's a characteristic of all crayford focusers. I use mine with a big SLR and haven't had any trouble at all. I keep hearing a lot of complaints, but just don't see the problem. Crayford focusers will never actually "focus lock" but they work fine.
Have you tried using the original yet? -Kurt Horsley
ps If you remove the original focuser, sell it to me.
