Attaching 80ED to Gibraltar?

I am expecting an Orion 80ED with a set of parallax rings to arrive in a few days. I want to attach it to my older Gibraltar with some sort of quick release mechanism.
What parts should I buy or should I just use a couple of thumb screw bolts?
Thanks

Hi David, Three options come to mind
1. Ken's rings makes a quick release attachment but kinda spendy over $100. But it sure looks nice http://www.kendauzat.net/other.htm follow the link about 1/2 way down the page.
2. There is a nice astro-physics machined aluminum bar which will line up with your gibraltar holes (you would then use the screws and caps that come with the gibralatar mount) and allow you to attach the parralax rings at the end

3. Go to your hardware store by a piece of steel between 4 and 7 inches long drill holes out for the gibraltar and rings if you need to. Use 1/4 bolts glue or weld them in place and use gibraltar caps that came with the mount.
I would tend to not just attach the rings right into the gibraltar holes but you can if it works.
Any questions's let me know, I can upload a picture of what I did for #3.
