Baader Contrast Booster v. UHC/Ultrablock

Among the reviews I've read, the UHC/Ultrablock is the best nebula filter. How does the Contrast booster do v. the UHC or ultrablock? Is there much value added to getting the UHC/ultrablock if you have a contrast booster?

Thanks!

Hi Clifton -

I have the UHC, O-III, and the "contrast booster".

The UHC is far better than the CB for nebula - frankly, the CB doesn't do much at all for nebulas - it is mainly designed as a planet filter.

That being said, the O-III is a generally a better nebula filter than the UHC, especially for dim nebula.

Hope that helps -

Baader's Contrast Booster is by far the best filter I've used for planetary viewing. I use it with both my 5" APO refractor and 9.25" SCT.
