I am thinking of buying a used Astroscan or a new Celestron ExploraScope (Astroscan wannabe http://www.celestron.com/prod_pgs/tel/specialty_index.htm ).

If he doesn't go for it, I will keep as my travel grab and go scope - if he likes it, I could upgrade in a few years.

Any comments, suggestions - anybody with experience?

Thanks for your help

Gary

Gary, take a look at Orion's Starblast... it is meant for kids use, and it's sure to give nice views...
