I have owned my Nexstar 8" GPS SCT now for about a year and a half,After I recieved it I noticed I had got the heavy duty one that is now standard for their 9+' cpc model,"
MPN 93495" after a recent trip while trying to fold up the tripod, the brackets that attach to the lower spreader, had broken and the other 2 were cracked (see image),the leg ring and hing are a heavier plastic between the "leg and spreader which are "steel/aluminum"

Has anyone else seen or had this problem with this type of tripod? or as usual am I the only unlucky one this sorta thing happens to. Celestron's Service desk "after several attemps" is diffucult to reach about either getting parts or is the tripod still covered under this supposed 2 year warranty. any answers would be appreciated

I think having Celestron take care of this is the right way to go. If phoning them doesn't work, then ask the dealer you bought it from to help.
