Collimating a laser collimator

I recently got a good deal on a Orion Lasermate Deluxe laser collimator. It actually does a decent job of getting me "in the area" of where I need to be.

Upon checking the collimation of the laser, it is off more than I'd like it to be. I rotated it using a gun stand as my vblock aimed at a wall about 20' away.

Since the collimator is new, would I be better off sending it to Orion and having them collimate it (do they even do this?) or just taking the sticker off and collimating it myself?

There is a small writeup by Floyd Blue (I think) on collimating a laser. I'm fairly confident in doing it, but I figure it'll void any warranty since the sticker needs removed.

Anthony;

You are probably going to have to know how to collimate it yourself anyway. I have a similar unit from Owl Services and had problems with the collimation changing when I removed the two end plugs to change the batteries.

It takes some patience to get it right, but if you're a patient guy, I'm sure you can get it done.

I've included a photo of a stand I knocked together from scrap wood. Seemed to work pretty well.
