Equipment:

N11 GPS
Panoptic 35mm
Nagler 22mm T4
Powermate 2" 2x

(Any filter must be a 2")

Targets:

Mostly DSO's, looking to improve all types of nebulosity. Increased planetary contrast a plus, but no major deal.

Observing locations:

Mostly dark skies (light domes no higher than 20 degrees) with good/great seeing and below average/poor transparency most of the year.

Budget
Looking for a lifetime filter and willing to pay for it.

Thanks,
Dannon

I seen this link posted a few times and used it myself.

For an all around nebula filter, I would go the UHC type, maybe a Lumicon.
O-III does a nice job on some, but I feel the UHC does the most on the most.
The H-Beta is too specialized. I own all three, so I feel I can state an opinion. In fact I just used all there last Saturday night and the UHC was best on most Nebulas.
For Planetary, hmmm, I can't name a particular "one" filter.

Indeed, as Floyd suggested, the Lumicon UHC and the Orion Ultrablock are the most popular ones, being followed closely by the Lumicon O-III...

I personally have the Orion Ultrablock, and it works wonders in bringing out nebulosity detail on my VERY light polluted skies...

Clear dark cool skies to all!
