Anybody every try wrapping their truss poles with something like Protostar flocking paper?

How does it hold up over time?

Nope! But I have had a lot of luck with Flat Black Epoxy paint. Seems to hold up well and is fairly flat black. Also Heat shrink will work, but expensive. Rhino Coating for truck beds works too.

Ed, you mean on, like, say, a modified 20" Starmaster from a few years back?

In that case, it didn't last long. Replaced with nice heat-shrink covering like Rick uses now. Came out great.

I did this on my 18" Starmaster, It lasted a few years, then I sold it (it was still on when I sold it). Didn't make a big difference, of course, but it did cover up a few shiny scratches in the original paint. I used the protostar paper because I had some extra from the piece I ordered to flock the UTA and a few other things - some of the other options people have mentioned would probably be cheaper unless you happen to have some around.
