Hi, thanks for looking. I have a Tal 4" refractor that I want to mount on my Gibralter but the rings won't clear the yolk and I don't want to buy a Televue ring if I don't have to. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem??
Thanks for any ideas,
Steve

Steve go to a hardware store and get a 1/2"-3/4" X 5-6" piece of steel. They are usually sold in the area of cabinet hardware. You need to drill two holes in the middle of the plate that match your Gibrltar holes and run a 1/4 inch bolt through the holes. Then drill two holes in the end for your tube rings. That is a simple and cheap way. I ended up going to a welding guy to get the two bolts that go through the Gibraltar welded down.
Any ?'s let me know...there of course may be other ways.

You can get one of AP's sliding bars and solely as a mounting plate. Attach your rings to ends of the bar and then use quarter20's to attach the plate to the gibraltar. The AP folks have specifically designed the bolt pattern for the purspose of attaching their ring sets to the gibraltar. Just make sure you can attach your tal rings to the AP bar. I think the 7" is about 25 bucks.
