Hi,
Does anyone here have any experience with having your mount Hyper-tuned? Was it worth the cost? Did it really change the way the mount worked?
Thanks,

Hi Floyd,

I had a chance to Hypertune my LXD55 few years back by the owner of LXD55.com. I think is Richard Harris, but I could be wrong. I actually wanted to do the hypertuning myself, but end up with a bushing stuck in the Dec housing while trying to put the thing back in. So no choice, contacted him and he ask me to send it in. All the way from Singapore, you won't want to know the price.

But he fixed it and the mount is good as new. He also gave a report on what he fixed and all that. There is also a nameplate saying the mount has been hypertuned.

That's a few years ago...not sure now.

There's beena lot of talk here about who is doing the work, who is a ripoff. A couple of yrs ago I had my lxd55 hypertuned by (someone) at lxd55.com. It also needed repairs, which were done, the polar scope polished, sent back better than new. It then located, and tracked onderfully. Hope it's sorted out who is on the up-and-up, and you will have a much better setup. I still had that junky tripod to deal with, tho.
