Lens cap linings?

I am looking for some foam tape/lining or other material to use on the inside edge of a lens covers. I have one lens cap that has lost its lining and no longer fits snug onto the OTA and another that is just too big and needs the lining to make it fit snug. I also need to line an ERF (energy rejection filter) for Hydrogen Alpha imaging of the sun and am wondering about the heat and the effects of the glue on the tape/foam lining.Any ideas?

Michael, there could be (most likely) cheaper ways to do it, but I did it using leftovers of the self-adhesive flocking paper that I got a while ago for baffling my reflector... it works fine!

I sold this scope a longtime ago, but these leftovers worked wonders on my metal dew shield also, since I did not like having metal to metal contact, so I used strips of this paper as a soft/tight contact point... much better!

I heard that Walmart has some self adhesive "Felt" that you could use... might want to check it out...

Clear dark skies!

I bought some self-adhesive felt disks at Home Depot for another project but found that they worked pretty good for snugging up a loose dust cover on my NS11.
