LXD-75 mount questions

Just wondered how good the Meade LXD-75 is, how does it compare with the CG-5, is it smooth in both axis, how do the drive the work? I had one of the first runs of the CG-5 back in the 90's, it was stiff, and even holding a Tak FS-78 the mount was not up to snuff, in other words it was pretty much junk! I'm pretty picky about mounts.
