Meade lx200 14" Under-mounted?

if the 12" is under-mounted shouldn’t the 14" be hopelessly under-mounted if its on the same mount as the 12"?

Thinking about getting one but still unshure.

Dunno. Nobody's actually seen one yet as far as I know. If the drive base is the same, my guess would be yes.

I'm betting that they are going to use a new larger mount for the 14" and then use it on the 12" also. This would allow them to distribute development costs over two sizes and improve a definite deficiency in the 12". Of course this is just speculation on my part but if they don't do this, it would greatly cripple the 14" before it is even released.
