Several years ago I sent a mirror to be recoated. The mirror came back with an inspection report. On the report was pinholes: 80/50. Can anyone tell me what this means?

Yes, it is a Mil Spec surface quality rating. Pinholes are grouped with scratches and digs from coating or substrate. 80/50 is an acceptable cosmetic standard, but not good enough for demanding research or laser applications.
