Mounting a C 9.25 SCT to a standard GM-8 mount

Hi, I have a GM-8 with the standard saddle plate. How do I mount a Celestron 9.25? SCT OTA to my GM-8? Do I have to get the bigger saddle plate from the G-11 and use the D series components?

Also, I have the 11-pound counter weight (no 7 pound weight). Will I be ok with the 11-pound counter weight? I do not expect to mount anything but the finder, a diagonal, and an eyepiece on the OTA.

Thanks in advance for your help

You can mount a G11 Saddle to the GM-8. Then the 9.25 dovetail sold by Losmandy will work. My GM-8 has the G11 saddle. Someone else can answer about counterweights. Clear skies!

I have the C9.25 on a GM8 and think it is a wonderful setup. I have about 17 lbs of weight on it right now. My second hand GM8 had the G11 saddle on it when I bought it so I don't know about that part.
