Nebula filter?

Does anyone know of a narrowband UHC filter that can safely be cleaned similar to an eyepiece? I got the NPB filter and it said that fingerprints and cleaning will ruin the coating and you should determine if its worth cleaning. It would be nice not to have to worry everytime I screw it on.

Definitely do not use any water based cleaners as many specialized filters are damaged by water. On the narrowband filters I have, I was told by a knowledable person at the distibuter that the best cleaner to use was pure (or as close to it as possible) alcohol. Everclear was recommended. At least with that, whether the cleaning works out or not, you can still make a mixed drink with any left over.
Hope this helps.

Any filter with Dielectric coatings will stand up to many cleanings.
You can get 99.4% pure alcohol at an electrical supply company, one that sells parts and equipment. They use this for cleaning electrical components. Be aware that alcohol at these concentrations will attach paint and some plastics.

I read in a blog the Baader and astronomik nebula filters are made differently and can safely be cleaned without worry off ruining the coatings? Do you guys agree?
