Need some advice on a visual back C9.25"

Hi Guys,

Finally got a mount for my 9.25" OTA (Ultima forks) and now need to add a visual back, diagonal and some eyepieces I am not sure which way to go. Give me some suggestions and what has worked for you. Also, which is best set-up for use with f6.3 corrector?

Should I get Astro-Physics/Lumicon type 2" visual back and
use "regular" (refractor style) type 2" mirror diagonal?

Or, a 2" SCT specific mirror diagonal that threads into back of
scope?

I am going to do just visual now but would like to try photo later. Also, I want to make sure the thing can be brought to focus correctly.

Thanks

Well....depends on if you have a second scope or so. If you have a nice refractor that you'd like to use 2" eyepieces with, I'd go with an adaptor and refractor eyepiece like a Maxbright or Everbright. If you're going to be doing photography, you won't be using the diagonal anyways, you'll use a T-adaptor and maybe a tele-extender or something like that. So I'd go with a refractor style diagonal if it was me (which I use on my SCT) Good luck! Anthony

You'll probably want to rotate the diagonal to
get a comfortable viewing position, and I
*think* this will be easier with AP/Lumicon
style 2" back -- its just one or two thumbscrews.
I think the dedicated SCT diagonals have a big
ring you'll need to loosen/tighten if you want to
rotate the diagonal.

I use a refractor-style 2" mirror diagonal
and am very happy with it.
