Over the years I have had four 8" and three 6" dobs. Thought another 8" (Skyquest XT8) would be fun so I bought another. Not so good as I am now apartment dweller and not a homeowner. So out it went. Then I came across a Skyquest 4.5. What fun!!! Easy to carry and setup. Very fast cool/warm up time. Great optics!!! Was going to sell this one too but I think I'll keep it in the stable a while longer. BTW, I do use it on a 5 gallon weighted bucket and use a lawn chair to view. What fun.

Cool find! A 4.5-inch scope seems like a good happy medium for apartment life! When you can't just wheel something from the garage to the back patio, a lot of telescope buying equations change!

I have several telescopes, but none are semi-APO, APO, or in anyway valuable.

It is a genuinely good little telescope. I was in a similar situation a couple of decades back, and was amazed at what I was able to see--with a little work--with a 4-inch reflector under generally poor skies.
