orion product number: 05228. Hello all, Just wondering if anybody has used this product w/ a digital camera. If so how well does it work? I have the kodak cx4230 which has no threads on the lens so those other types of adapters wont work. Not looking to spend alot so i figured this product might be just what i was looking for. Any opinions? Thanks, T. J.

My first photos were taken with an epson digital camera. I had the same problem with no lens threads.I purchased the scopetronix version of this adaptor, which looks to be the same, and although it worked it was a pain to set up. The lock down screws were just not enough to keep the whole assembly stable. I found myself forever trying to tighten the screws a little more and adjusting the angle to get a clear view through the camera. I ended up selling the epson and purchasing another camera and using scopetronix digi-T system I am happy!
Good Luck

I hate mine. It also slips around, not to mention being a real pain to set up in the first place. Be careful not to scratch your camera lens with the eyepiece.
Also only my Orthos will fit it. Plossls have a broader lens mount so you have to grap the EP lower on the barrel, limiting the length of barrel that can fit in the focuser, adding to the stability problem that's already there.
I took the plunge and bought a webcam and 1-1/4 inch telescope adapter. Much better! Now I can shoot .avi files and combine frames. (see registax.com)
I never got my $$$'s worth out of the (un)Steadypix.
