Pier-Tech piers

Hello:

Does anyone out there have experience using Pier Tech adjustable piers? Specifically do they retain precise polar alignment as claimed by the manufacturer when raised or lowered? I can see the advantage for observing but is alignment good enough for imaging?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

I have two Pier-Tech 2 piers. Personally I think they are the best accessory investment I have made. They are especially nice if you like to show others the wonders of the night sky. One I bought new and is observatory mounted and carries a CGE 14 easily. The other I bought used and I move it in and out of the garage and use it for a 130mm refractor. They are both excellent. I can detect no image shift when raising or lowering. They are quiet and at full height there is no easily detectable motion (slop) in either pier. They are very solid and not as heavy as you would think.
