RE: Orion 9x50 Correct Image Finder Mount

I was given an Orion 9x50 corrected image finder without any mounting hardware. I have an 8" Meade telescope I was thinking about mounting it on. However, I don't know what kind of mount to get for it. Or, if possible, I could manufature something for it. Has anyone come across a similar situation and have any ideas what I could do? Does anyone have an Meade finder mounts that might work for this thing?

Thanks

Hi:

I have one of these finders and I like it.

These are quite short so they maybe too short to fit in some 50mm finder mounts. I just compared the RACI mount to the standard Orion/Celestron/GSO straight through finder mount and they appear to be identical.

So my suggestion would be to place an want ad for a stock/orginal finder mount of the type that would fit your scope, either the SCT (for the SCT) or Dovetail for other scopes.

Any 50mm finder work of the single ring variety will work. One of those Orion sells, for example.

The only limitation is that if you use a two ring finder mount, make sure the two rings are not too widely spaced.

Charles, I'm not clear on what you are missing. However, if it's the mounting base, they are available seperately from Orion. Check here:
