SAC8?

I just recieved a supposedly "SAC8" imageing camara from a fellow Astromart user. However, it doesn't look anything like what is shown on their webpage. It is much larger than the Sac7b that I have. It is approximatly 4 inches in diamater and is in a black enclosure with a fan mounted on the rear. It also has an external box measuring approx. 4X6 inches with various in and out ports and cables and has a gain control knob. Is this for real,a prototype, or have I been ripped off? I haven't been able to test it sinse my laptop is broken and I am awaiting a new one. Any help with info would be appreciated at this late hour. Thanks,
George

George -

The original SAC-8's have a very homemade look to them. Many of them even had hand-written pieces of tape on them, instead of silk-screened print to mark the controls.

SAC has since developed a nice commercial enclosure for the SAC-8's, and I believe they will put yours in the new housing for free if you send it in to them, they were doing this for a while.

Does it look like this? If it does, it's an early SAC8...
