How useful is an electric focuser?

I have C8 and use it both visual and for photography. I am looking at an electric focuser. I would like to have access to manual focus and electric focus. The slide on Motofocus does not allow for manual focus. The NGF focusers are quite expensive but if it is really that useful the cost is not that important, I'll wait a bit for an NGF... I would like to do CCD photography and use the Nikon 995 and film now. Mirror shift is already an issue so the NGF focuser is a good way to eliminate this.

I bought a JMI NGF-S for my LX10 from Adorama for $229.95. I am very happy with it. Focusing is easier and mirror shift is not an issue and I am able to use the telescope's focuser when I need to.

I use a Robofocus both for my 10" lx200 and my AT1010 refractor mounted on top with a losmandy dovetail. i set it up somewhat differently from the "normal" setup using velcro and a very strong magnet. i normally align and focus manually as the setup i use is removable. it's really easy and attaching the focuser is a 30 second affair. the robofocus works like a champ and it autofocuses with about 45 sec using focusmax. for the refractor i hand made a bracket using some scrap aluminum i had laying around. if you want i could provide pictures of the setup...it's pretty straight forward.
