Selling Scope Questions (LX90)

Hello,

I am planning to sell my LX-90 (with UHTC) that I got in April of this year and in excellent condition. I checked the classifieds, but not too many LX90's w/ UHTC there (or not sure if the seller was successful with the advert.). . .what is a fair price to ask?

Also, I am no where near an expert at determining the quality of the optics. Collmination seems perfect (to me at least) and the scope doesn't have a scratch. Considering my inability at judging the optics' quality, would I be able to say the scope is in "like new" condition?

Everyone here has offered great advice in the past, so I want to make sure I am as accurate and fair as possible. . .I don't want to upset someone who could potentially offer me advice in the future. Thanks! - Jason

Hi Jason,
I just checked the new price at Anacortes wich is $1870 with UHTC, maybe you have extra accessories like eyepieces etc. but I guess since it's quite new (April 2003) that you might be able to ask about $1500 for the scope with its standard accessories...

A "fair" price is going to be the one that is acceptable to both parties. You can ask almost anything you want, but if the price is too high, no offers will be made, and you'll wind up reducing the price until you do get offers.

A good place to start is to add up the prices paid for the scope and all accessories and ask for 80 or 85% of the total.

Here are a couple recent LX-90s with UHTC that sold recently ... look at the details in the archives.
