so i'm wondering why so many 6" tec maks seem to have hit the market. don't know how many were made, but it seems like a lot of ads for what i assume was a fairly limited production and very desirable scope. wish i had some extra cash!

TEC6 was introduced a little before TEC140, many who had TEC6 and also bought the 140 are keeping the apo and selling the Mak. If you want the best little 6" Mak get one while they are being offered on Astromart.

Thanks,
Vahe

Last night, in dark, steady skies, my TEC 6 gave some great views of Mars, open clusters, the Veil and dim galaxies. The best part was putting in all back in the car without hurting my back! grin

Hi Glenn,

Walter got my TEC6 and all I got in return was his crummy Tak FS-102 and a bunch of second rate Tak accessories! wink I loved that TEC6 but my local seeing conditions in winter, my favorite time to observe, aren't CAT friendly at all. Yuri's Maks are works of art not just scopes and I would recommend them for that reason amongst others. My problem is the fact that I live directly west of a large shallow bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The constant temp fluctuations and fronts make CATs frustrating to use especially when you know that you have some of the best optics available but rarely have the seeing to enjoy them. sad I also have a Nexstar 9.25 that doesn't get used half as much as my little refractors.

Clear Skies,

Steve
