Spiders and Spikes

I have read a lot about 3 vane curved spiders and 4 vane spiders and how the curve spiders cancel most spikes. How ever if your scope already has a 4 vane spider then you would have to do some modifications to the secondary cage to give it the mounting bars for the 3 vanes.
I am wondering if there is not a 4 vane spider that will do a better job of eliminating these spikes so you could use the same mounting hardware? Just seems to me that there should be some one that has addressed this issue.
Also I have read where most 3 vanes will not support the larger diagonal mirrors well and tend to sag with the weight. So this make me not too sure about the 3 vane solution.
Has anyone done anything with a spider that has given better results.
Thanks
Floyd

Floyd,
Kenneth Novak in Ladysmith, Wi. sells 4 vane curved spiders that still mount at the usual 4 90* locations. He has no website and seems to answer the phone only weekday afternoons. I have one in my 10" dob and his 2 vane curved spiders in my 4-1/4" and 6" and am very happy with thier performance. Information can give you his phone # as I don't like posting info like that on open forums.
Hope this helps, Bob
