Super-sized portable power supply

Hi All,

Being socked in with cruddy weather, I decided to throw together a new portable power supply (uhh... battery pack) with a little more ooomph than the 17AH "Jump Start" units I had been using. A fellow club member was gracious enough to let me drain... er, "share" her battery last Friday at a public session, but I really needed to address the ever increasing power crunch I faced (and no, I'm not using Kendrick dew heaters to keep my feet warm!)

Enter some monster-sized Gel-Cells I salvaged from work last week. I know it's it's a real drag to read a long-winded description, so to spare you that frustration.... an illustrated web page (Ta Da!):

Now then, does anyone here have a rain-cloud filter? shocked)

Ciao,

Paul

I was thinking of something along the same lines. A good friend of mine is in a wheel chair, and his electric model has a MASSIVE battery that scoots him down the road at a cruisin' 10MPH... was thinking if I could set that up somehow it'd be a nice strong/reliable source.

Hi Paul, I like your idea. I have almost the exact same rig I made up this past year. About the only difference is I mounted a 3 plug splitter on the top and use a normal car battery. I hard wired a plug for the charger as well so the top never has to come off.
Your looks a little nicer with the plugs mounted right into the lid and the power monitor, nice touch!

I guess I'll have to make a trip down to Radio Shack.
