Ultima 9.25 Question

9.25 users I have a few questions for you. I am fairly new to astronomy. (Recieved a gift of the Celestron Nexstar 114 for my birthday last January from some wonderful friends of mine who noticed my interest in astronomy--- Sky and Telescope mags always laying around, etc.) As you might guess I was quickly innoculated with aperture fever. I did some research and settled on the Celsrtron 9.25 as a scope with good optics at a reasonable price and it still fits in my Honda Accord to go to my clubs star parties as I have no viewing at home in the city. I just purchased an Ultima 9.25 for a very good price. I had been thinking that I would buy a 9.25 OTA and then get a GM8 mount for it UNTIL the Ultima fork mount came along for a good price. So, I was looking for information on Celeston 9.25 telescopes tonight and I noticed an old forum exchange about changing to or from a fork mount with the 9.25 telescope. Now I may end up being very happy with the fork mount but if I am not just ecstatic about it after some time my question(s) are: 1.)If, in the future, I would decide I still wanted to go to the equatorial from a fork mount is that possible with this Ultima OTA? 2.)If it is, what is involved in making the change-over beside getting the GEM? 3.)Would I be able to sell an Ultima tripod, wedge and fork mount if that were the case and I didn't want to keep it? 4.)And whaterver else you can think of.
Thanks for whatever help you can give me,
Lynn

Yes, it is possible to convert the Ultima 9.25 OTA to a GEM using various dovetail plates, depending on mount type. For instance, Losmandy makes the DC9.25 to mount the scope on a G-11 (saw one for sale on Astromart yesterday). Your Ultima was a premium scope package in its day.

The fork mount will be harder to move separately, but there is someone out there who can use it if the price is right. BTW, I moved my Meade 10" 2120 LX5 OTA to a G-11 and the increased stability is significant. Good Luck.
