Where to get a decent right-angle finder?

Hello!

I am desperate for a good right-angle finder for my Intes-Micro Alter M603 Mak-Cas. The stock IM finder is just plain bad.

I would like one that will fit in the current finder mount if possible, and that looks the same as my star charts. Also, I am not wanting to break the bank - but I guess that goes without saying.

Any ideas?

Thanks for helping out a relative equipment newbie!

First of congratulations on moving to a right angle finder. It is money well spent!!!

You may want to try O'neil Photo or Hands on optics. E-mail them the model of your scope and I'm sure they could fix you up just fine..

I think you would really like a telrad or a red or green dot finder. they are both -0- multilying finders & really easy to use.
hope this helps.

James, you mentioned that you want a finder that looks like your star charts. I am assuming you are looking for something with an amici prism. Is this correct? If so, University Optics sells one for $180.00.(at least it's shown in their '99 catalog) That's a bit expensive but I imagine it's pretty high quality. If you can afford it there's no reason to compromise on quality, even in a finder.
