snow on roof ?

Hi--I'm looking for some new ideas of how to get snow off of a roll off roof. It is a pitched metal roof, but a quick icy storm has resulted in about 8" which appears to be stuck on there. The only electricity I have is from solar recharged batterys.
Thanks,
Dan

Put a heat source in the building and melt the bottom layer of snow, it should then be easy to pull it off with a broom or the like. If you have a propane BBQ grill and it will not smoke up the building, it should do the job very quickly.

Thanks for the ideas--cant get propane in there now because its a half mile hike through the snow to get there. roof rake is a good idea, but right now i'm afraid that there is condiderable ice under the snow. I forgot that I do have a 3500 watt generator up there--has anyone ever used the heating wire that is used to prevent gutter ice damns ? I would think that with the metal roof that might be a viable solution...once the current snow/ice is gone. What do you think ??

Thanks,
Dan
