CG5 to altaz?

I have a CG5 head I'd like to be able to use in alt-az mode, but the declination doesn't seem to be able to accommodate this- can't get it to either 90 or 0 degrees. Seems to be a deliberate design flaw. What can I do, other than buy something else- my smaller mounts don't have this problem.

Jess:

I have to say I am a bit surprised, normally you have some quite "creative" ideas for addressing equipment problems.

This problem, unlike membrane mirrors and the like, has a simple solution...

Take the mount apart, see what the problem is, do a bit of cutting and grinding and be done with it. You may have to fabricate a bolt or two to lock the mount in position.
