What kind of single axis drive do I need for
an Orion Skyview Deluxe equatorial mount?
Is it EQ-2, EQ-3, ... ? What is the Synta
equivalent of this mount, if any?

I used to own one a while ago, and it was an AstroTrack motor drive what it used. Same as what they now recommend for their EQ-1 and EQ2 mounts. The SVD was considered an EQ-3 mount at that time...

I'm not sure if their actual Astrotrack drive will work on the SVD, it could, but it might be wise to call them up to find out for sure...
You could always put a WANTED ad for an SVD RA Drive (AstroTrack) on the classifieds and see, one might show up... 8)
