Guys and Ladies, I just got a TEC140 (used) but need a mount for it. Scope set up weights about 23 pounds. First choice would be a GOTO German EQ or ALT with GOTO capabilities. Second choice would be a non GOTO German EQ then third choice would be a plain old ALT. Looking for something steady for visual use that won't break the bank (scope already did that!) p.s. Can't believe the wife let me buy it.

If you are only going to do visual, then that opens a lot of possibilities, from the Atlas, to the new ieQ-45. The real question is, how much do you want to spend and new or used?

For visual use I'd highly recommend the Swiss AOK mount. I'm using it for four years now without any problems up to any reasonable mag.

Congratulations on the scope. Since 2005 I've used my TEC 140 on three mounts. The AP 600 was a perfect match, but the price of a good used one may be more than you'd like to pay. My Universal Astronomics Deluxe worked pretty well, and the cost is moderate. Ultimately, I decided to sell the UA and purchase a lightly used DM6, which is my current favorite for grab and go observing.
