My wife and I went walking this morning and there was a very bright object in the eastern sky. My guess would say Venus but I thought Venus was out in the late evening/early night. Is Venus out in the night and the morning or was that something else? Thanks in advance.

Your first guess was correct, Nathan. Venus is a morning "star" for now.

Check out Curt Renz's site : http://www.curtrenz.com/astronomical.html

He always has some great graphics and visual displays of the current solar system.

I was up super early this morning and checked it out with my 70mm telescope. It made for a brilliant shimmering, boiling, little crescent. grin Definitely worth a quick look - even if it points out the need for an anti-fringing filter. shocked

I have several telescopes, but none are semi-APO, APO, or in anyway valuable.
