Hi All; I am thinking of changing the spider on my XT10i, the reason is that I can't put in a filter slide because Orion installs the OEM one right in line with the focuser so I need to move the OEM so why not change it to something better. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have replaced the spiders in three reflectors. One, four vaned (12.5") and two, three vaned (8"). In a 10", I would opt for the three vaned spider. IMHO you can't go wrong with Protostar products.

Your spider is fine. Your tube is indexed improperly. I would pull the spider, paint it flat back and turn the tube 1/8" to re-install.

The only reason I would consider an upgrade is to add the built in dew heater option, if dew is a issue.
