Well finally got outside and was able to do a few things with the new (old) scope....collimated it.......did an align, a calibrate sensors.....and tried out the 2" eyepieces on Orion nebula, and Saturn.

Everthing seems to be working OK ......for first light EXCEPT THAT TREE that blocks my direct view of Polaris!!! Got to find another spot to set up in the yard! Maybe the front yard??

It amazes me the goto function! and I also found out how to Sync on an object. The next time out I will really try to locate some "fuzzy" objects. Ha! smile

If you are calibrating sensors, yes, you'll need Polaris... but after that, unless you are on a Wedge, you won't need it anymore... wink

Just do a 2 star alignment after that, and you'll be set... 8)

ENJOY IT!
And please let us know how it goes, once you start collecting those faint fuzzies... wink
