I got plenty of lumber and plenty of tools, but no money. I'm looking for a good design for an observing chair I can put together over Thanksgiving. Any help on a website suggestion would be apprciated.

Thanks

Hi David:

Never built a chair, some folks seem to like something called the "Denver Chair."

I googled Denver Chair and there are several pages with instructions so you should be set.

Here is a link to the Denver chair.

But I like the Catsperch design better.

Have fun,

In Phil Harrington's book Star Wares he has an observing chair project along with many other home
made astronomy accessories.

Thanks to all who offered advice and websites for observing chairs. I'm going to start on a catsperch-like chair tomorrow. I'm afraid the Denver chair would slide down with my weight. At 6'4" and 280 lbs, I need all the support I can get. Hmmm titanium!
