Observing from Skyline Drive in Virginia?

I am contemplating driving up on Skyline Drive (a 9 hour drive for me) to observe the Venus transit. This will nearly double my observation time if successful. Can anyone help with knowledge of a good pull-off with a great eastern horizon?
