I am hoping the weather in Olympia, WA will cooperate next Friday Oct. 9th. The LCROSS mission is planning to impact part of its lunar probes into a lunar crater. It is said that telescopes of 10" or greater have a chance of visualizing the rising plume of impact ejecta estimated to rise up to 6 miles. They are planning to crash the probe into the Cabeous crater at 04:30 AM PST as I understand. I am going to try to video tape it. Nasa is suppose to be broadcasting live.

sad Out here in Rhode Island, I don't think the prospects of witnessing the plume are sad too good!! The sun will be well up at that time...will try to catch a live broadcast, I guess!!!
