Victoria in sight!

Hi all,

Opportunity is getting very near the next gig hole in the ground; Victoria crater. Should be interesting when it finally reaches the rim!!

First PanCam images of Victoria crater are now available. It looks like on mean crater! 8O Will be interesting when we get some colout images from the rim!! 8)

We are, frankly, feeling a little overwhelmed by what we see so far. It's very reminiscent of our first glimpse into Endurance Crater, more than two years ago. We figured out how to deal with that then, and in time we'll figure out how to deal with Victoria too. But for the moment we're feeling a bit awestruck.

Not sure what they will do inside that crater. It looks very sandy with little exposed rock.
