I was out with my new homemade solar filter this mourning and saw my first sunspots. Well, they were small but definately there. Actually, it looked like four small spots. I rotated my eyepieces and filter but the spots were still in the same position so I assume they were on the sun. Did anyone else take a look?

They're small, but we'll take what we can get! Maybe I'll get a chance to take a look this evening.

And thanks for the alert, sunspots have been so few and far between that I don't even bother to look unless I see a mention of them here. Indeed they are small, it took me a moment to see them, missed them at first at about 30x but I was able to see them nicely at about 50x and then I went back and saw them cleanly at 30x, maybe it took a moment for the scope to settle down. Setup the PST and there was a bit to see but not a lot, aesthetically I actually prefer the white light filter.
And reassured if the solar cycle ever get started again, there will be much bigger sunspots but I won't say more, I want these spots to know they are being appreciated. There is hope...
