House Finch, male, top of the Street lamp

Finch, very small bird was about 20 yards away, on top of the street lamp. Tried my new 4" Mak MC MTO 11-CA lens and Canon EOS 300D for bird photography. Focusing is critical, had many pictures come out out of focus.
Round flange he standing on is the cover of the photo cell on top of the lamp, only a few inches in diamater.
