This bird is not supposed to be anywhere near north central Texas. My book shows it only found in parts of Florida and California. It has appeared in my yard twice in the past week and appears to be alone. As fate would have it, the day was very dark with storm clouds today.

I have been told, by a member of the Fort Worth Audabon Society, that my I.D. if this bird was incorrect. It is actually an Eurasian Collared Dove. This species was brought to the Bahamas and then migrated to South Florida. It is now spreading rapidly.
