This is not new at all. As we sit back and watch or participate in a "war" of Political Correctness in the US over the trivial, an actual war exists globally against Christians that are guilty of nothing more than being Christians. Here is the about page from persecution.org:

It is sad that this seems like news to anyone in the US.
