Cloudy, weak stars, could only go 30 deg. up from horizon, home-made screen, etc.

Is it normal to have such a small apparent image of the lines?. e.g., 1/8 hole diameter in film can, Using the eye 2" back from the hole in prime focus minus?. I think it would be but am hoping for a miracle.....

The CCD camera I tried(Connectix Color2) could not image the faint lines or the star in prime focus mode. Did not try the 675K or the VC.

Bad day at Black Rock even though what I saw looked like straight lines. Hard to tell in weak light I guess.

Did add the 3rd adjustment screw to the optical back but have not aligned anything. No laser.

This is a late model Celest.CR150 scope with adjustable cell.

whenever I used a ronchi screen for testing, I would insert an eypiece directly into the focuser (no diagonal) then center a bright star in the field of view. Then I'd remove the eyepiece and hold the screen directly up to the open rear of the focuser. Never had a problem seeing lines that way...
